Audley Hesselgesser

Audley Hesselgesser was the 12th child of Ellis Hesselgesser and the 12th child born to Sarah Elizabeth McGinnis. Audley was born 12 Sep 1902 in Sarver, PA when Minnie Etta was 23 years old, Edward Thomas was 21 years old, Nellie was 18 years old, Emma Jane was 16 years old, Blanche Eva was 14 years old, Maude Elizabeth was 12 years old, Wilda Aldene was 9 years old, Raymond Ellis was 7 years old, Guy Sherril was 6 years old, Kenneth William was 3 years old and Olen Thomas was 2 years old. Audley married Gertrude Love on 1926 at the age of ???. . Audley died 26 Mar 1986 at the age of 84.

Biography/Pictures

Audley was a painter at Schenley Distilleries. He purchased the family homestead while still owning his house in downtown Sarver.

Audley and Gertrude celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1976 at which time a reception was held at their home at 581 Sarver road in Sarver, PA. Nancy Sutton (my mom) remembers that she wore her apron during the entire celebration, and made note of it in her geneaology notes. Mom also noted that Gertrude remarked at the time that "she'd do it (marry Audley) all over again!". Gertrude was a member of Sandy Lake Church of Christ.
