William Jasper Nixon was the 6th child of Andrew Jackson Nixon and the 6th child born to Lurana Lorraine Wooten. William Jasper was born 28 Aug 1841 in Franklin County, Arkansas when James Goodman was 7 years old, Nancy C. was 6 years old, Frances Marion was 5 years old, Sally (Sarah) was 3 years old and Andrew Jackson was 1 year old. William Jasper married Nancy Emily Dickson on 26 Apr 1867 at the age of 26 and they had 11 children. William Jasper died 23 Feb 1935 at the age of 94.

William moved his family to Gillespie Co., Texas, near his father somewhere around 1874/75. They travelled by covered wagon. My mother, Lounell, remembers her grandmother Cook, Mary Elizabeth, telling her about their journey to Texas in a covered wagon. William outlived his wife by just over two years. Nancy died on Jan. 2, 1933.
