In 1973 Steve and his Mother and brother Mark moved to Hope Mills, NC. Steve graduated from Hope Mills Sr. High in June 1977. He attended the King's College in Briarcliff Manor, NY. While there he met and fell in love with Judith ("Judy") Chamberlin who was also a King's student. After Judy's graduation, the two were married at Pompton Lakes, NJ. After they were married Steve transferred to Eastern Mennonite College where he graduated with a B.A. in Applied Music in May of 1983. After their first child, Sarah was born, the couple moved to Hope Mills, NC. Steve became a full-time Minister of Music and Youth at Second Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. He continued to serve as a Minister of Music for the next 20 years. In March of 2005 he became the Pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.
