Mrs. John Hesselgesser Passed Away Last Friday

Clara McCurdy was born in Butler Co., PA, February 9, 1861 and passed away at her home in Palmer, NE, Friday morning, October 22, 1937. She had been in poor health for the past several years but was a patient sufferer and never complained to her family or friends. She was united in marriage to John Hesselgesser at Butler Co., PA, November 18, 1879. They came to Nebraska in 1881 and she has lived most of the time in and around Palmer for the past 34 years. Mr. Hesselgesser preceded her in death August 8, 1931 and her son Frank in 1935. To mourn her passing are two sons, Roy of Grand Island and Solon of Elba, three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Pemberton at Palmer, Mrs. Ina Cronk of Sonol, NE and Mrs. Laura Groetzinger at Cotesfield, NE, 18 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Westbay of Sargent, NE and Mrs. Olive Morgart at McKeesport, PA, other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Hesselgesser was a fine Christian woman and enjoyed very much the pursuit and practice of her religious principles. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church at Palmer, by the local pastor, H. G. Darling on Sunday afternoon, October 24th. Interment in the family plot at the Palmer Cemetery. The pall bearers were friends and neighbors of the family, M. V. Lambert, Guy and Glen Nicholas, B. F. and Clarence Newlon and Alfred Nicholas.

CARD OF THANKS: Our sincere appreciation is extended neighbors and friends for kindness and sympathy shown and for floral tokens of remembrance in the hours of anxiety and bereavement occasioned by the recent illness and death of our beloved mother, Mrs. John Hesselgesser.
