Dale and Irene moved to a farm in Kentucky, where Dale and Irene raised and trained beagles, eventually winning a name for himself in the Beagle Hall of Fame. Dale and Irene were the originators of the "Sutton beagles" line. He was considered to be an authority on beagles and traveled extensively to dog shows. The Jim Sutton Jr. family visited them about 1970 or so. I (the website author and son of Jim Sutton Jr.) remember playing with the dogs during this family vacation and loving the experience of southern hospitality and being out in the Kentucky country air.
